WIL : Weekly I Learned 26.04.2024

 

 

Facts

During this past week, I learned a lot. I created various queries based on real data used in work in SQL.

I created various SQL queries based on game data used in the field provided by tutors.  Also, as I dived into the main course of Python class, I learned about various Python tools. I not only learned basic functions but also functions for creating graphs.

 

 

Feelings

My concentration seems to be waning more than I thought as time goes by. It felt like my concentration dropped while learning too much at once. Coding turned out to be more complex than I anticipated. Especially when creating Python queries, I often encountered minor errors. I feel like I need a lot of practice with repetitive functions like 'for in' and 'while', as well as with lists, tuples, dictionaries, etc. I feel like I'm standing still, questioning whether my skills are improving.

 

 

Findings

Starting this course, it seems like it takes more time for me to understand and master the quries than the lecture time itself. I admire data analysts, developers, and scientists working in the field. There's still much to learn, and I want to know how to use tools effectively to assist in various tasks. I had a conversation with the tutor about connecting deep learning and machine learning to job automation as this is his main field. I was told that it's possible to utilize them without writing all Python code by myself from scratch. I want to improve my ability to understand and utilize code by looking at it roughly and comprehending it as a whole.

 

 

Future

I'm not sure how I can apply what I've learned in real work situations. I've been practicing querying data with various conditions in SQL and coding related to mathematical calculations in Python. Nevertheless, this week, I learned data literacy, which taught me how to approach data from various perspectives. I want to create a portfolio from different viewpoints when working on the next project, utilizing this knowledge.
